Extended covers
The West of England’s standard P&I cover is very broad in scope but occasionally a Member may need to engage in activities or contract on terms which fall outside of normal Club cover. The Club helps meet its Members’ operational requirements by offering a wide range of extended covers, which are designed to complement normal cover and can be tailored to meet an individual Member’s needs.

Crew familiarisation cover
Crew Familiarisation Cover protects a Member from liabilities for crew and other personnel on board of a vessel prior to delivery or after sale.

Deck Cargo Cover protects a Member from liabilities to cargo owners where cargo is carried on deck against an under-deck bill of lading or is unsuitable for deck carriage.

Specialist Operations Cover provides protection against those liabilities arising out of an entered vessel being engaged in specialist operations that would otherwise be excluded under the Club’s Rules.

Third Party Shipmanagers MLC Cover protects an assured who is an independent, third party shipmanager against their obligation to reimburse the Club for any uninsured MLC liability where the Member – their principal – fails to meet their obligations.

Certain liabilities arising from towage by or of an insured vessel fall outside normal P&I cover and the Club’s Towage Extended Contractual Liability Cover provides the necessary additional cover for those liabilities.
