No.9 2024/25 - West elevates focus on risk management with appointment of Chief Risk Officer

The Managers are pleased to announce that Katy Shearer has been promoted to Chief Risk Officer and appointed to the Board of Directors with effect from 1st July 2024.
Since joining the Club in 2016, Katy has served as Chief Actuary, and in 2022 took over the management of the risk function. Prior to joining West she worked within the consultancy division of KPMG working primarily with London Market insurers.
Katy commented on her new role:
“It is a privilege to take this next step in my career at West, a Club whose purpose, culture and approach to change make it an exciting place to work. I look forward to continuing to develop the Club’s risk management practices, helping to ensure that the delivery of the Club’s strategy is undertaken in a manner to optimise its long-term stability and success.”
