EU ETS Regulations to be adopted in the UK in 2026
In line with its commitment to becoming “a green energy superpower”, the UK Government announces its new goals for UK waters and UK ports to be carbon free which includes the plan to bring the shipping sector under the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) from 2026.
This announcement follows the extension of EU ETS Regulations which came into force on 1 January 2024 which was covered by the Club’s recent article on the matter.
