Port disruption in Chile

Following the recent protests in Chile, the Chilean National Port Workers Union (the so-called “Unión Portuaria de Chile”) called for a nationwide strike. According to a recent update from Chile's Manufacturers' Association (SOFOFA), the ports subject to strike are Antofagasta in the North (Second Region) and Talcahuano, San Vicente, Lirquén and Coronel in the South (Eight Region). So far other ports are operating but with certain restrictions in those Regions subject to curfew periods.

We are monitoring developments but in the interim Members should contact their local agent for the most up to date information of operations at Chilean ports.
