Alex qualified as an English Solicitor in 2017 and is also a registered qualified Lawyer at the Brazilian Bar association, joining West from a shipowner where he worked as a legal counsel and having previously worked in a commodities trader advising on the shipping and trade division of the business.

He has experience in handling both “dry” and “wet” cargo loss claims, disputes under charter parties, bills of lading, ship sale forms and ship building contracts.  

Alex is also the Club's Deputy Correspondent Manager having taken on this additional role in October 2024.
